In the context of digitalization, ecology, and new globalization, innovation-driven entrepreneurship has become a common path for many enterprises. This implies that stakeholders’ roles and functions in entrepreneurial activities have changed. In this new environment, stakeholder theory may not fully capture the “multi-agent” characteristics and behaviors in innovation-driven entrepreneurship activities. This chapter reviews the development of stakeholder theory and its application in entrepreneurship research; it also discusses its new direction and trend in combination with the latest theory of innovation-driven entrepreneurship. It aims to provide a reference for future academic research on this topic.
