Academic Autonomy and Global Consciousness of Chinese Anthropology
摘要
The positioning of Chinese anthropology must be discussed in the context of the development of Chinese anthropology. Early Chinese anthropological research, with Wu Wenzao (吴文藻) as the core figure of the Yanjing School, also known as the Northern School, emphasized from the very beginning that anthropology must have a strong sociological orientation. Because of this orientation, anthropology programs at some universities in Beijing still emphasize sociology (although this orientation is also influenced by many other factors).
