Hey Robot, Here’s My Data: The Impact of AI on Joining Digital B2B Platforms
摘要
In this study we examined the effects of AI-assisted data input on user perceptions and behavior in the context of a digital B2B platform. We conducted a scenario-based experiment with 406 participants, all of whom were either responsible for or employed in marketing, ensuring they had professional experience in the field. Participants were randomly assigned to one of four conditions in a 2 × 2 design (AI-assisted versus human input; start-up versus mature company). The analysis revealed that while AI-assisted input did not significantly impact Perceived Ease of Use, it had a positive influence on Perceived Usefulness. A moderated mediation analysis, conducted with the PROCESS Macro, showed that Perceived Usefulness mediated the relationship between AI-assisted input and Intention to Disclose Data. Furthermore, Attitude towards AI significantly moderated these effects, with individuals holding skeptical or moderate attitudes towards AI showing stronger indirect effects on Perceived Usefulness and Intention to Disclose Data. Although the Type of Business did not directly influence data disclosure intentions, it had significant effects on both Perceived Ease of Use and Perceived Usefulness. These findings offer valuable insights into the role of AI in shaping user behavior, suggesting that user attitudes towards AI are crucial in determining the success of AI integration in business processes. Theoretical implications and avenues for future research are discussed.
