This paper presents a custom-developed Literature Review Tool for streamlining the process of discovering, extracting, and ranking relevant content from a diverse range of online sources using advanced web scraping techniques and contextual full-text search capabilities. By supporting semi-automated workflows, the tool significantly improves the efficiency and accuracy of literature reviews, allowing for a more comprehensive analysis of both scientific publications and grey literature, such as blogs, informal reports, and government documents. This paper provides an in-depth overview of the tool’s main functionalities, detailing the processes of source discovery, article extraction, and content analysis. Additionally, it discusses the architecture and various implementation aspects that enable seamless integration into research workflows and showcases the tool’s practical application within the FishEUTrust project and broader marketing research as real-world literature survey scenarios.
