The construction sector extensively uses raw materials, leading to significant construction and demolition waste (CDW) generation. While circular economy (CE) presents a solution to reduce the generation of CDW, stakeholders can hinder this transition. Thus, early stakeholder engagement (SE) in construction projects is paramount to bridge this gap. Although existing literature focuses on CE, SE, and CDW management, it seldom captures their holistic interaction. Thus, through an integrated review, this paper aims to provide an initial understanding of their interaction and interrelationships. The findings of this research highlight the importance of understanding the dynamics when transitioning CDW management towards CE. Integrating key project stakeholders to achieve circular material value chains can lead to CDW elimination. Influencing the behaviours of key project stakeholders to consider CE as a method of managing CDW can enable circular material value chains. This study outlines a basis for further research in this emerging field, and future research could look into synthesis strategies.

摘要
