The impact of titanium (Ti) addition on cobalt, chromium, iron, manganese, and nickel (CrCoFeMnNi) high entropy alloy (HEA) was studied in the aspect of microstructural and mechanical properties. The CrCoFeMnNiTi HEA was cast via a vacuum melting process and remelted five times to achieve homogeneity. X-ray diffraction (XRD) was used to identify the phases presence where addition Ti introduced new phase (BCC). Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) analysis discovers a dendritic structure present in the titanium-added CrCoFeMnNi HEA. In addition, the CrCoFeMnNiTi HEA gives a higher hardness value of 949.24 ± 5 HV compared to the CrCoFeMnNi alloy, which has a hardness value of 184.42 ± 5 HV. The findings suggest that the addition of Ti has a positive impact such as higher hardness, which has potential applications in a wide range of materials science and engineering fields.

摘要
