This paper shares the production experiences of high-strength thin strip steel on the Arvedi ESP line operated by Acciaieria Arvedi in Italy. The ESP technology enables continuous casting and rolling of steel into thin strip with thickness ranging from 0.8 to 12 mm. The suitability of this technology for producing advanced high-strength steel grades is investigated. The key production stages from steelmaking to coiling are examined, focusing on casting and rolling parameters, microstructural evolution, and resulting mechanical properties. Challenges encountered during process optimization are also analyzed. Results show that the Arvedi ESP line is highly effective in manufacturing high-strength thin strip steel grades with consistent homogeneity and quality. The findings provide insights for improved understanding and further advances in high-efficiency production of advanced thin strip steels using the Arvedi ESP technology.
