Additive manufacturing (AM) refers to manufacturing technologies which feature the joining of materials in a layer wise fashion to make 3-dimensional (3D) components using computer-aided design (CAD) models as input. Additive Manufacturing is a growing technology, and its growth has been gaining industry’s attention in the last decade. There has been a steep incline on both the AM innovation curve which forms the supply and the amount of AM industrial applications which represents the demand. These increases have been observed overseas, whereas the general perception of AM’s activity in Malaysia is that it is still in its infancy. Therefore, this research aims to understand the current Malaysian outlook in comparison with global market outlook, and specifically in the aerospace industry.

摘要
