Research in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and immersive technologies have been transforming the industry, offering solutions to the challenges faced by construction professionals. This paper presents a systematic review of the existing literature on both topics and categorizes the ways and applications of how BIM and immersive technologies have been integrated. The paper identifies gaps in the current knowledge of construction management research and proposes future research areas. The review highlights the potential applications and benefits of these integrated technologies, methods, and stages used for integration. The study has identified a total of 56 refined papers from the Scopus database and ASCE library, and the PRISMA methodology was used to guide the systematic literature review. A categorized list of immersive technologies, which provides a roadmap for the successful adoption of immersive technologies for industry practitioners and stakeholders in the AEC industry across various domains was then presented. Findings of this study highlight the concerns raised about technical aspects, such as data standards, integration of software and hardware, and provide suggestions for addressing these concerns.

摘要
