The chapter provides an overview of the inherent risks associated with hazardous materials and their impact on supply chain management, highlighting the impact of climate change on sustainable consumption and production. The chapter suggests hotspots for future research, including in-depth studies on the impact of sustainable production and consumption behaviours on supply chain management, data-driven optimisation of supply chain management and robust stakeholder collaboration. In addition, the chapter calls for the refinement of material selection criteria and sustainable waste management to form an effective sustainable consumption and production pattern.
