In this work, we present a 0.46 THz gyrotron operating at 9th harmonic based on axis encircling electron beam. With the help of CST-PIC (computer simulation technology-particle in cell), the mode competition of the large orbit gyrotron (LOG) is discussed. A 9th harmonic terahertz gyrotron with large orbit beams is novelty optimized at 0.46 THz, achieving a peak output power of 8.05 kW when the electron beam voltage is 250 kV and the current is 4.5 A, which provides key technical support for applied biomedical applications.
