In this chapter, I explore the journey I have undertaken as I navigated my life, work, and advocacy across five countries. I have had the privilege of living and working in India, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Australia as a woman of colour from India. I draw on my position as a daughter, mother, and educator with strong community links, who has had a successful career in higher education with leadership opportunities in multiple countries. Using autoethnography and personal reflections, I incorporate the frameworks of resilience and empowerment and how these have underpinned my experiences. In this chapter, I share my reflections and how strong global friendships have been critical in my journey. Finally, the chapter examines what leadership means from the author’s perspective and her style of leadership that resonates with migration, gender, collaboration, managing change, and ultimately leading to transformation.
