Its 17,570 members belong to diverse social groups, including transgender people, devadasis, trafficking victims, HIV patients, etc. Uniquely, ABLF has promoted a panchayatPanchayat level federation (PLF) for its transgender members, an attempt at organising them through financial inclusionFinancial inclusion, training, and incomeIncome-generating activities. During Covid-19, the members of the PLF produced and supplied hand sanitisers and masks to the healthHealth department. The ABLF has created 120 joint liability groupsJoint liability group (JLG) (JLGs) of women to encourage entrepreneurshipEntrepreneurship. Many JLGs have displayed vibrancy and innovations. Easier access to loansLoans, training, opportunities created through convergence, and social action have all favoured the social and economic inclusive approach of ABLF.
