The AMMS has been functional since 2000 in the Warangal district of Telangana. The social composition of its 1011 SHGs is a mix of SCs, STs, and others, while overall, 86.3% of members  were poor. The women have moved a long distance since their husbands objected to their participation in SHGs. The persistence of savings and credit activities by members has been effective in breaking free from oppressive informal financing. The federation has relied chiefly upon promoting loan-based livelihoods. The loan utilisation practices of SHGs are carefully thought out and implemented after a visioning exercise for livelihood development. AMMS has supported various livelihood activities, mainly farming and allied activities, which are the primary vocations in the area. The active convergence with local governance, financial empowerment, and exposure to social agencies have unfolded women's autonomy. The federation has a vision to enable every woman to earn up to Rs. 10,000 per month.

摘要
