eTEP for Abdominal Wall Hernia: The Technique
摘要
Rives-Stoppa technique or retromuscular placement of mesh is considered the preferred method of ventral hernia repair for surgeons worldwide. Initially developed as an open technique, surgeons have successfully adopted the principles of Rives-Stoppa technique utilizing a laparoscopic approach, commonly known as the enhanced-view totally extraperitoneal repair (eTEP). The procedure originally proposed for inguinal hernias has been extended to abdominal wall ventral hernias in midline as well as lateral locations. This chapter briefly expounds the technique of eTEP for midline ventral hernias, iliac fossa hernia, lumbar hernia as well as diastasis of recti.
