This paper presents the vital importance and exciting prospects of environmental geomechanics (EG) in tackling sustainable engineering in India. Specifically, it prospectively focuses on the innovative initiatives the Government of India took and its aspirational collaborations with academicians and researchers alike, the pioneering policies and regulations created by various bodies that work closely with it, and the pioneering excitement of pursuing the associated challenges. Emphasis has been given to showcasing the unfolding revolution of EG and the cutting-edge research frontiers that are associated with it. The role of cross-disciplinary collaboration with professionals from different arenas of science and technology, societal aspects, and policy creation and implementation for a prosperous future has been highlighted as the panacea for achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and circular economy in the true sense. The prospect of harnessing the power of EG to create a sustainable future is truly idealistically exciting. By embracing the challenges and opportunities that come with it, India can unlock new possibilities and create a better world for all with unbridled enthusiasm and unwavering commitment.
