Characterization of Low Permeability Carbonate Reservoir and High-Quality Reservoir Distribution of Sadi Formation in W Oilfield

Strongly heterogeneous carbonate reservoirs are the main oil and gas reservoirs in the Middle East. Due to later diagenetic transformation, the reservoir pore structure is complex. It has strong heterogeneity. Sadi reservoir has developed low-permeability carbonate reservoirs in contract area. Most of the existing oil wells are naturally produced, oil wells in different locations have significant differences in production. Therefore, clarifying the basic characteristics of the Sadi Formation and distribution pattern of high-quality reservoirs is essential for the later formulation and optimization of reservoir development plans. By comprehensively studying the overall distribution characteristics, microstructure, and basic physical properties of reservoirs, a classification standard for reservoirs is established. High-quality reservoirs distribution is predicted. Development laws of Sadi reservoir reservoirs is clarified. The research findings suggest that the grainstone easily develops the reservoir with big pore, high permeability, and large pore throat diameter. The reservoir has good connectivity. Sadi lower A layer and Sadi lower B layer mainly develop high-quality reservoirs. High-quality reservoirs are distributed in high areas of anticline structures. This research achievement has practical guiding significance for the efficient development of low-permeability carbonate reservoirs and the optimization and deployment of well positions in the later stage.
