Due to the ineffective traffic management caused by this imbalance, there have been noticeable increases in traffic jams, congestion, and pollution. Addressing the problem of growing traffic has become urgent on a global scale. By using cutting-edge technology, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSs) provide a viable solution for addressing these issues. This research explores the development of traffic control systems as well as the cutting-edge innovations that have revolutionized this field. Furthermore, it examines various techniques based on traffic signals, primarily focusing on scrutinizing their security vulnerabilities and the measures taken to enhance system performance.
