Disaster education is now more important than ever in promoting disaster resilience, especially in schools, where young people may be provided with the necessary information and skills to reduce risks and effectively respond to disasters. The study investigates the evolution of disaster education in Asia and the Pacific, analyzing various approaches and pedagogical techniques used to improve disaster risk reduction (DRR) in school curricula. This will help evaluate the current practices, challenges, gaps, and new approaches that aim to establish more efficient and engaging learning environments through case studies from Asia and the Pacific region. The results indicate that although there has been significant advancement, there is still a need for continuous innovation and collaboration among educators, policymakers, and communities to build a resilient future. This paper enhances the discussion on disaster education by offering valuable ideas and perspectives on improving disaster education in schools. The aim is to ensure that children and young people are well-informed and empowered to act in disaster.
