This chapter critically reviews the sociopolitical, sociocultural, socioeconomic, pedagogical, technological, and organizational impact of digital transformation and innovation on Chinese higher education. Digital transformation and innovation in teaching and learning involve academic, curricular, didactic, organizational, pedagogical, technological, and structural innovations in higher education institutions, which requires redesigning and restructuring curricula and teaching and learning management systems for technology-enhanced teaching and learning in a hybrid-flexible environment.
