Pedagogies of reflexivity encourage educators to critically examine their own biases, dispositions and perspectives through their teaching philosophies and disciplinary practices. A reflexive relationship between teachers and students also enables educators to interrogate their own assumptions and those of their students, contributing to a more dynamic and responsive learning experience. By sensitising students to this process of self-awareness and self-questioning, such pedagogies deepen critical thinking and engagement with the subject matter.
