Codetta: Pedagogies of Evocative Ambiguity
摘要
Ambiguity is a defining characteristic of artistic practice. Pregnant with possibilities, artistic ambiguity evokes suspension of judgment, creative suspense and searching inquiry. Evocative objects serve as intellectual and emotional tools that encourage students to become more open and receptive to uncertain and thought-provoking ideas, while challenging them to engage with complex concepts and reflective dialogue. Rather than providing clear-cut answers or predetermined outcomes, evocative ambiguity is an enabling constraint that cultivates ways of thinking through others. This codetta creates space to explore pedagogies that support students in transforming potentially alienating encounters into opportunities to make, think and collaborate in creative ways.
