Ecotourism in the Muarajambi Temple Area
摘要
The site of the Muarajambi temple area, Muarojambi Regency, Jambi Province, Indonesia, has diverse archaeological remains. The archaeological remains stand on an interesting cultural and ecological landscape. The awareness of the younger generation of Muarajambi has begun to appear, but efforts are still needed to empower various elements of society to promote the uniqueness of archaeology and geomorphology within the framework of ecotourism. This research aimed to (1) explore traditional activities in order to preserve the environment, (2) identify ecotourism in the Muajamambi temple area, and (3) define criteria for implementing ecotourism in the Muarajambi temple area. These objectives were achieved through survey and mapping for archaeology and ecology, ecological assessment for tourism, archaeological and ecological documentation, and interviews with local communities. Thus, the identification of community-based archaeological and ecological heritage management in the Muarajambi temple area site can be achieved.
