Cultural heritage is the cultural remains of buildings and local traditions that have value for the supporting community and the outside community as connoisseurs. Banjar people in Banjarmasin and surrounding buffers have a unique culture and reflect a philosophy in life. In the present context, which has been a shift in viewing the value of life, the cultural heritages have been abandoned and decreased in harmony with their living. Even though there are still cultural values embedded in the living system, it seems that some people ignore this. Therefore, the problems are to outline the potentials of cultural heritage tourism and how to manage its sustainability while strengthening community character. This study used qualitative methods and data collected through observation, interviews, FGDs, literature, and documentation. The analysis used the Miles and Huberman (Qualitative data analysis. Sage, Newbury Park, 1994) methods through data reduction, presentation, and concluding tourism potential and sustainable management. The results show that the city of Banjarmasin and its buffer zones have great potential to develop cultural heritage tourism. With a sustainable development strategy and proper protection of cultural heritage, tourism will become a source of income and contribute to promoting cultural wealth for domestic and foreign tourists.
