Role of Komunitas Aleut in Cultural Heritage Tourism in Bandung
摘要
Komunitas Aleut is known for its cultural heritage tours in Bandung, which is an initiative designed to offer young individuals a chance to delve deeply into history, exploring historical sites and artifacts, such as momotoran and ngaleut. During the exploration of historical buildings, participants craft descriptive narratives and subsequently share the stories on the Aleut blog. This has transformed the blog into one of the most vibrant and engaging online communities. Therefore, this study aims to examine the role of Komunitas Aleut in fostering the growth of cultural heritage tourism in Bandung. Several study questions were outlined including: (1) What are the key cultural heritage tourism activities engaged by the community; (2) What challenges do the community encounter in their endeavors, and (3) How do the community adapt and respond to opportunities in the era of disruption. A qualitative methodology was used, incorporating data collection methods, such as observation, interviews, and a comprehensive review of relevant literature. The results make a valuable contribution, providing a distinct perspective on the evolution of cultural heritage tourism as observed from the viewpoint of the local community. From the perspective of community archaeology, the engagement of youth reflects the principles of participatory and inclusive preservation. The active engagement of Komunitas Aleut in shaping the path of cultural heritage tourism plays a crucial role in ensuring its sustainability and in creating meaningful connections between past values and the complexities of modern life.
