The use of digital information technology can boost the development of tourist destinations in a sustainable manner. In this research, we aim to explore the efforts of local champions to develop the tourist destination of Sunrise Land Lombok (SLL) through digital information technology. This qualitative descriptive research concentrated on a case study related to the tourist destination of SLL, Lombok Timur, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Data collection techniques were in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation. Three young male managers were chosen as key informants, under the criteria of being tourist destination managers, playing a role in destination development from the beginning, and having an understanding of how to capitalize on digital information technology media. Results demonstrated three efforts the management made as: first, carrying out a quick and creative adaptation with the development of digital information technology and through digital promotion; second, making collaborations with a multitude of parties through training, research, and workshops; and third, fostering the sustainability of nature and environment through waste management, turtle protection, and others. The key to developing tourist destinations in the midst of digitalization relied on the creative efforts made by the management, which also involved the local community. The action was expected to allow a continuant development of tourist destinations during this globalization era and the development of digital information technology and to realize prosperity. Further research is called for to address the challenges the management must combat to collaborate with partners, including the Lombok Timur government.
