Landscape Linguistics as a Form of Language Communication Approach in Promoting Local Products in Tourism Packages in the Tenganan Pegringsingan Tourism Village and Tenganan Dauh Tukad Village

The study of the linguistic landscape is inseparable from the domination of foreign languages in traditional tourist destinations. Balinese society can be said as a multilingual society. What is the role of language in improving people’s welfare in the Tenganan Dauh Tukad Traditional Village? What strategies need to be taken to increase the promotion of local handicraft products and tour packages in the Tenganan Dauh Tukad Traditional Village? This study uses a qualitative research method by taking several photos of signboards, flyers, and texts on electronic media related to local craft products to tourism packages. The study results stated that most English is used on signboards, flyers, and texts on electronic media, followed by Indonesian. However, the Tenganan Dauh Tukad Traditional Village also uses Balinese script to maintain the Balinese script so it does not become extinct. Inconsistencies were also found in using various languages, which was a key finding to improve promotion performance. Language Communication Approach Increasing the Promotion of Local Products to Tourism Packages in improving people’s welfare and strategies must be taken in the Tenganan Pegringsingan Tourism Village and Tenganan Dauh Tukad Village. The research was only conducted at Tenganan Pegringsingan Tourism Village and Tenganan Dauh Tukad Village.
