Development of SI Traceable Si Standard Solution for Nutrient Analysis in Seawater
摘要
A certified reference material of SI-traceable silicon standard solution (KANSO-Si standard solution) was developed that can be supplied in large quantities to improve the measurement comparability of nutrient analysis in seawater. The high-purity SiO2 was selected as the starting material of the KANSO-Si. The high-purity SiO2 was fused by Na2CO3 in an electric furnace, followed by dissolution in pure water. The established procedure could be expanded to the production scale of 100 mL × 1000 bottles per lot at 1000 mg Si kg−1 mass fraction of Si. The value assignment of mass fraction of Si in manufactured KANSO-Si was performed by continuous flow analysis calibrated by NMIJ CRM 3645-a Si standard solution. The relative value of expanded uncertainty of the certified value of mass fraction of Si in the KANSO-Si standard solution was 0.4% (k = 2) including the standard uncertainties related to the homogeneity, long-term stability, and value assignment of mass fraction of Si.
