Abiotic stresses are caused by various environmental factors, including land degradation is a significant environmental challenge on a global scale, leading to serious socio-economic repercussions. In India, the current assessment indicates that around 6.73 million hectares of land are impacted by salinity and sodicity. This chapter offers a comprehensive overview of the technologies proposed for the management of salt-affected soils. These interventions have shown a positive influence on agricultural productivity and yield, thus contributing to the improvement of the socio-economic status of farmers in affected areas. Additionally, the chapter addresses critical technical, economic, and policy-related challenges that impede the progress of implementation and scaling of these technologies. In light of future demands and challenges, several key recommendations are also presented.
