Examining the spatial distribution of tourism elements and their relationship with the transportation network structure is crucial for optimizing tourism efficiency and enhancing regional competitiveness. This study employs kernel density estimation, synergistic location quotient, and space syntax to analyze the spatial patterns of key tourism elements—restaurants, accommodations, transportation, and attractions—in relation to the urban road network. The analysis is validated through an empirical case study in Xiamen City.The results are as follows: ① In terms of spatial patterns, the core density of tourism elements is predominantly concentrated within the island area, exhibiting relatively weak spatial linkages between different elements at the city-wide level. However, on a more localized scale, the spatial association between restaurants and other tourism elements is the most pronounced. ② In terms of the association with the urban road network, restaurants and transportation elements demonstrate moderate to strong positive correlations with road network integration, local choice, and street density, but only a weak positive correlation with global choice. In contrast, accommodations and attractions show weak positive correlations with road network integration, local choice, and street density, with no significant correlation with global choice. Xiamen City should focus on enhancing the transportation service capacity of its scenic areas. Furthermore, linking tourism elements within strongly associated spaces could foster the development of tourism and leisure districts. This study provides both theoretical insights and practical recommendations for promoting the sustainable development of the tourism industry.
