The incidence of postoperative infection following open surgery for rotator cuff injury ranges from 0.27 to 1.9%, whereas the infection rate following arthroscopic rotator cuff reconstruction falls between 0.0016 and 0.23% [1]. Various risk factors, including but not limited to operation duration, surgical technique, use of internal fixation, obesity, diabetes, and smoking status, are associated with postoperative infection. Despite the relatively low incidence of postoperative infection in rotator cuff injuries, the potential consequences of infection are severe.
