Dislocation of acromioclavicular joint is often caused by direct violence. Rockwood [1] divided the dislocation of acromioclavicular joint into six types: type I and type II injuries, coracoclavicular ligament is not completely broken (i.e., acromioclavicular joint subluxation), which can be treated by manual reduction and external fixation. After 4 weeks of surgery, external fixation is removed and functional exercise begins, achieving good therapeutic effects. Nonsurgical treatment can be attempted first for type III injuries, and surgical treatment can be performed after failure [2, 3]. Injuries above type III should be treated with surgery to facilitate early functional recovery.
