Nanofillers in Pharmaceutical Industry

The ever-increasing need for safeguarding of our surroundings has resulted in the swift growth of greener and more environmentally friendly materials. The fabrication of such materials has presented both new challenges as well as potential for the development of nanomaterial research. Further, a composite material is comprised of two or more components, which are referred to as the matrix and filler. The fundamental purpose of the filler material is to occupy the spaces within the matrix, hence facilitating the synergistic integration of the matrix and filler components. This integration leads to enhanced performance characteristics. With the development of nanomaterials, the usage of such materials in various matrices has solved many purposes such as removal of pharmaceuticals, from aquatic system, drug delivery, etc. The usage of material integrated with nanofillers in pharmaceutical industry has been summarized. The importance of filler dispersion in the different frameworks is highlighted. Finally, the challenges and future outlook for the material embedded with nanofillers have also been explained.
