One of the major sources of particulate matter (PM) emissions in India is open biomass burning (BB). This study focuses on the amount of PM released into the atmosphere due to the open biomass burning in the dry season. The long-term health exposure evaluation for adults (25+ age) was also studied with the help of AirQ+ . The field monitoring showed an overall increment of 66.26, 83.06, and 107.50 µg/m3 for PM1, PM2.5, and PM10 in the ambient atmosphere. Hence, the mortality rates of PM2.5 due to COPD, LC, lung cancer, IHD, stroke, and all other natural causes were found for adults (25+ age groups) as 29%, 27.12%, 46.72%, 28.35%, 26.69%, and 35.56%, respectively. Results showed a severe mortality rate due to the exposure of biomass burning for adults (for 25+ age) in the locality.
