Exploring the Current Frameworks in India’s Healthcare System: Researches Challenges and Solution
摘要
India is moving fast toward adoption of Healthcare Information Systems (HIS) in private as well as public hospitals. Personal Healthcare Record (PHR), Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems are used to manage healthcare records. With growing IT infrastructure, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) initiated implementation of EHR system by defining standards for EHR, Digital Information Security in Healthcare Act (DISHA) and Health ID for each Indian. Literature survey of existing healthcare frameworks for Indian scenario has been carried out, in this research work, with highlighting their strengths and weaknesses. Study found that health care is the most targeted sector by attacker. Existing systems are suffering from few issues such as security, transparency, integrity, interoperability and single point of failure. Use of Blockchain, a decentralized technology, could address these challenges through well-defined framework for healthcare. This research work tries to highlight how blockchain can help to overcome problems identified in existing fragmented healthcare systems in India.
