Highway substructure waterproof and drainage design shall be carried out in accordance with the meteorology, hydrology, terrain, geology and set of bridge, culvert and tunnel. The design shall follow the principles of master-planning, rational distribution, less occupation of agricultural land and environmental protection and set perfect, unobstructed drainage system. A comprehensive design of substructure waterproof and drainage, substructure treatment and protection etc. shall be conducted, which shall be in coordination with the waterproof and drainage systems of pavement, bridge, culvert, and tunnel etc.
