This chapter aims to recapitulate the status of women in the logistics, transportation and commodity sectors. The chapter reviews, through a review of reports and studies, the jobs that women occupy in the logistics sector. By reviewing the reports and literature published in the Middle East and the Gulf, it becomes clear that many restrictions limit women’s access to logistics jobs. These restrictions are related to women’s perceptions of themselves and social perceptions. In addition, the stereotype and dominance of males in the logistics sector historically produced a state of absolute and prevailing assumption that these jobs are for men. Despite the restrictions, there has been a significant improvement in the rate of women obtaining logistics jobs. This chapter concludes with many implications for decision-makers and researchers.
