Advancements and Challenges in Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs): A Comprehensive Review with Emphasis on Security

Internet of Things (IoT) is an innovation that can interface things from different fields through the Internet. For the IoT-associated medical care applications, the Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) are acquiring fame as wearable devices spring into the market. It refers to a network of wearable computing devices that are embedded on, attached to, or integrated into the human body. Sensors implanted in the bodies of people can empower imperative data trade over wireless correspondence. It's possible that the connection will be wireless or wired. The devices in a network were genuinely associated with wires, such as model optical fiber link/Ethernet, etc., prior to the advent of wireless communication and technology. This survey centers on WBANs, covering applications, technological guidelines, engineering, correspondence conventions, security challenges, and ongoing headways. WBANs utilize ZigBee, Bluetooth, and Ultrawideband innovations for effective information transmission, beating issues like energy utilization, range limitations, and hub position. Security is principal because of clinical data responsiveness, requiring hearty encryption, authentication, information integrity, and privacy measures. Ongoing advancements in artificial intelligence, energy gathering, and multisensory combination are improving WBAN capacities. This paper means to direct future WBAN improvements toward safer, reliable, and effective medical services monitoring frameworks.
