The integration of Internet of Things (IoT) devices within motor vehicles lays the groundwork for the advancement of a state-of-the-art technology called the Internet of Vehicles (IoV). The realization of the Internet of Things has become feasible due to significant strides in computing technology and network connectivity. The IoV, an enhanced iteration of vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) which represents a further stride toward enhancing road safety. This progression marks yet another stride in the ongoing effort to enhance road safety. Even with the historically high number of connected cars on the road today, questions remain about the possible benefits and drawbacks of this technology. This research delves into an extensive array of scholarly articles pertinent to the IoV, aiming to pinpoint and categorize current challenges linked to implementing the IoV in urban settings. Furthermore, this paper offers a succinct overview of the predicaments stemming from currently available IoV technology. Additionally, it briefly surveys a diverse range of potential solutions to these challenges, encompassing both existing options and prospective remedies that may materialize in the future.
