Bridging the Gap in Diabetes Care Through Personalization: A Comprehensive Design Intervention
摘要
Diabetes is a global health concern affecting millions of people and putting significant stress on healthcare systems. Managing diabetes involves monitoring blood sugar levels, lifestyle changes, and taking prescribed medications. Current options are ineffective, causing emotional stress and leaving patients responsible for their care. New technologies, such as continuous glucose monitoring devices and insulin pumps, can provide personalized, real-time data and enable remote communication between patients and healthcare professionals. This paper proposes a cutting-edge diabetes management app that addresses patients’ mental, emotional, and physical health. The proposed approach uses the double-diamond design process, incorporating unique features like AI chatbots, mood tracking, food scanning, virtual teaching, and games. These features work together to create a comprehensive solution for managing diabetes. The app uses AI suggestions and machine learning to create personalized meal plans, injection schedules, exercise plans, and reminders for medication schedules and virtual appointments. The design intervention is easy-to-use and understand, providing personalized advice and support to help patients better manage their diabetes condition.
