The conclusion of the book draws together the themes of the preceding chapters, articulating these through key tensions and dimensions of interculturalisation. These include tensions between: distance and proximity; generalisation and nuance; and specificity and transposability. Secondly, three dimensions of interculturalisation which emerge from the empirical analyses—labour, embodiment, and reflexivity—are outlined here. These dimensions are crucial to a meaningful engagement with the notion of interculturalisation, not only in the context of study abroad, but more broadly.
