MOF for Lip Print and Palm Print Detection

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have received considerable attention in the scientific community owing to their intriguing structural properties and wide variety of uses. MOFs provide the capability to boost selectivity towards specific analytes by responding to various chemical and physical stimuli. In this chapter, a detailed study was presented about the usage of MOF for the detection of lip and palm print. The utilization of MOF based colorimetric or fluorescent sensors presents a visually perceptible and readily interpretable approach for the detection of lip and palm prints. Interestingly, MOF can create sensitive detecting methods to selectively interact with organic molecules that are present in human lip print and can also be constructed with high affinity to absorb VOCs to concentrate and isolate trace components in human palm prints. A framework of rare earth metals with lanthanides and transition metals are designed that are fluorescent in nature and can work effectively for lip print and palm print detection.
