The goal of this research is to compare the seismic behavior from 3 to 6-story steel frame buildings with the buckling restrained brace frame (BRBF) and self-centering brace frames (SCBF). The location of the structure is presumed to be Los Angeles, California region. We analyzed the static and dynamic nonlinear under two hazardous levels of near and far field ground motion. Four BRBF and SCBF models with different spans were selected for analysis. The SCBF generally performed seller inter-story drift and smaller residual drift compared to BRBF systems.

摘要

The goal of this research is to compare the seismic behavior from 3 to 6-story steel frame buildings with the buckling restrained brace frame (BRBF) and self-centering brace frames (SCBF). The location of the structure is presumed to be Los Angeles, California region. We analyzed the static and dynamic nonlinear under two hazardous levels of near and far field ground motion. Four BRBF and SCBF models with different spans were selected for analysis. The SCBF generally performed seller inter-story drift and smaller residual drift compared to BRBF systems.
