The self-immolation of Mohamed BouaziziBouazizi, Mohamed on 17th December 2010, in Tunisia set off a series of profound developments in the Middle East. Bouazizi, a street vendor, resorted to this drastic act in response to the seizure of his merchandise and mistreatment he received from a municipal authority and his assistant. Bouazizi eventually passed away at 4th January 2011.
