This Interlude, positioned between Chaps.  1 and 3 , introduces Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA), which is the primary quantitative methodology in Bourdieu’s research program (see Chap.  1 ) and the analytical tool employed in Chap.  3 to explore class relations in Australia. The Interlude traces MCA’s methodological root and historical development, critiques its current marginalisation in sociology, and envisions its potential for reinvigoration in future research. The Interlude also discusses MCA’s analytical principles of dimension reduction and relational thinking, which are central to constructing social spaces of groupings and distinctions. Examples are provided to illustrate MCA’s analytical principles and applications.

摘要
