Ground Water Recharge- A Case Study of Raghunathpurwadi Village, Maharashtra
摘要
Recharge of Groundwater through various initiatives at village and community level benefits agriculture and the local communities through strengthening of water supply and enhancing the resilience to drought. In this regard local village pond widening & deepening were undertaken in this village which is located in water-stressed Marathwada region within the state of Maharashtra. It was found that it resulted in an increase in water capacity of 21.59 Lakh Liters. Such approaches can be replicated for other villages across India.
