Research on the Drag Force Characteristics of the Armature of Induction Coil Launcher
摘要
The armature is a key component of an induction coil launcher, In engineering practice, Solid armature are more widely used and studied, Due to the influence of application scenarios, the physical armature can be made in two forms: integrated and split. Due to the influence of electromagnetic drag force, the final motion state of the armature and load in the integrated and split is different. This article uses Maxwell finite element simulation to analyze the characteristics of the drag force on the armature in both integrated and split forms, The research results indicate that: The integrated structure is affected by electromagnetic drag force, resulting in a decrease in the final velocity of the load and armature compared to the peak velocity, thereby affecting the ejection performance of the catapult. For the split, the final velocity of the load will not decrease compared to the peak velocity. Under the influence of electromagnetic drag farce, the armature can control the final movement direction and state of the armature by designing parameters such as the electromagnetic catapult or load weight, providing reference for the design of coaxial induction coil catapults.
