This study presents a thorough investigation into the performance and behaviour of mudmats deployed in thick soft clay substrates, with a focus on understanding the complex interactions between the foundation system and the surrounding soil. Mudmats, also known as mudline mats or seabed mats, are critical components in offshore structures, providing stability and load distribution in challenging environments such as thick soft clay formations. The current paper considers the case study for understanding the bearing capacity of mudmats for different shapes when placed on a thick soft clay stratum. The analysis considers the approaches by codal provisions. The analysis provides insight towards the selection of mudmat sizes and shape based on the strength offered by the same.

摘要
