Non-woven coir geotextiles are transformed into composite materials called latex-coated coir geotextiles. The goal of the study was to evaluate the drainage properties and strength of coir geotextiles coated with 10, 30, and 50 latex. Non-woven coir geotextiles coated with latex underwent a variety of testing, such as wide-width tensile strength, cone drop, apparent opening size, water absorption, transmissivity, and permeability tests. The research indicates that a 10% latex coating increased the coir geotextile’s tensile strength by a factor of 1.20. Moreover, properties such as apparent opening size and water absorption were reduced compared to coir geotextiles without latex coating. As the latex content was increased to 50%, tensile strength showed 4 times increase compared to coir geotextiles without latex coating. Latex coating significantly influenced the drainage attributes of the coir geotextile, enhancing transmissivity and retarding permittivity. The transmissivity of coir geotextiles increased by 9.52%, 17.46%, and 25.39% for latex coatings of 10%, 30% and 50%, respectively.
