This paper presents a study on the impact of using a Virtual Assistant (VA) to support patients in navigating home health devices. Using an adaptive network model, the research demonstrates how access to a VA improves both efficiency and patient confidence in device usage. By facilitating quick, accurate answers to questions about device functionality and troubleshooting, the VA minimizes time spent on issues related to device setup and operation, which can often be a source of frustration for users. This improvement is attributed to the real-time, on-demand assistance that VAs provide, reducing the need for patients to consult lengthy manuals or wait for help from healthcare providers. Consequently, the model suggests that VAs could play a crucial role in increasing the accessibility and usability of home health devices, ultimately contributing to better health outcomes and greater patient independence in managing their own health.
